Stepping out to the light

15 years ago, when the society wasn't as accommodating as it is now, I came out to my family and my parents. I cannot explain my feelings then. All I can remember was how grateful I was for my parents to accept me for who I am. I know it's not easy for them to understand and for accept everything but I am thankful that everyone's patient enough to help one another.  Last week, we MLA had the #PrideMarch. Even though my boyfriend and I weren't able to join, my heart was ecstatic as I check and follow all the updates that day. It was pure love. No definition. No explanations. Just LOVE. Which I supposed what it should be. As we walk towards acceptance and breaking the stigma, I personally felt like coming out nowadays isn't enough. We should come out and be responsible. Be responsible enough to break the stigma. Be responsible with all our actions and words that we say. Be responsible as we represent not only ourselves but the entire community.  Let continue s...

I’m  not the type of person who’d like to splurge and indulge with gadgets nor with any  materials things. I only buy things that I need. I was raised this way since I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. But I do have fishes and prawns in my mouth. Hehe. That’s our business in Bulacan. So my parents only give me things that I need. So for this one, I think my most treasured item is my heart. Yes. My heart. It’s not a secret that I’ve been through a lot. My heart has been crushed. My heart has been abused. My heart has been used. But still, it beats and ready to give love to those who are deserving of my love. After all the things that happened to me, indeed there are only four people who are deserving to be loved by anyone: 1. God. 2. Yourself. 3. Family. 4. Ano nga ba makakapag pasaya sa isang tao? Paano mo mararamdaman na mahalaga ka? Time. Mahirap ibigay ang oras. Mahirap maglaan ng oras. Bago mo pa maramdaman ang sweetness, ang thoughtfulness at lahat pa ng “ness” you need to spare some time. Mahirap naman magpaka sweet kung wala kang time, diba? Kahit sa phone, in person o sa chat pa yan – it all requires time. Ang pagbibigay mo ng oras sa mga taong mahahalaga sayo only shows kung gano sila kahalaga.
